Designation of origin: D.O.Ca.Rioja ,: Baños de Río Tobía, Rioja Alta. Spain
Vineyard: Organic viticulture.
Variety: 100% Garnacha Tinta.
Vineyard: Unique vineyard of more than 100 years planted in glass.
Soil: Vineyard planted on exposed slopes in the shape of an amphitheater, facing south at 650 meters above sea level, with poor, shallow soils with a marked clay-calcareous character.
Elaboration: After being destemmed, the grapes are placed in 500-liter French Tronçais oak barrels in which they undergo alcoholic fermentation and aging. The wine remains in the barrels with the fermentation lees for 11 months. This wine does not complete the malolactic fermentation.
Aging: 11 months in French Tronçais oak barrels of 500 liters capacity.
Harvest: Manual harvest in 15 kg boxes. 2,500 kg per hectare are obtained from these vineyards.
Climate: With a marked Atlantic influence, in one of the coolest areas of Rioja, with cold winters, mild summers, and mild and long autumns. The large variation in temperature between day and night causes a slow
maturation, which is very suitable for the synthesis of polyphenols and aromatic development.
Production: about 3,100 bottles.
Tasting notes: Its bluish color of wide intensity stands out. Its fruity nose is reminiscent of strawberries and raspberries. It has a very complex structured palate, with silky and elegant tannins. It has a balanced acidity and a long persistence on the palate.
